Technical marine synopsis for the Pacific waters issued by
Environment Canada at 9:30 p.m. PST Tuesday 24 December 2024 for
tonight and Wednesday.
The next scheduled synopsis will be issued at 4:00 a.m. PST
Wednesday.

Systems position.
At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located on a line
north-south over the offshore waters.
By 10:30 a.m. PST Wednesday frontal system located from Haida
Gwaii to Explorer.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Wednesday quasi-stationary frontal system located
on a line north-south over central Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Wednesday low 953 mb located west of Bowie.

Canada at 9:19 P.M. PST Tuesday 24 December 2024.

A strong frontal system will move across the offshore waters tonight.
By late Wednesday morning, the front will stretch from Haida Gwaii to
Northwestern Vancouver island and through Southern Explorer.
The front will stall over Vancouver Island from Wednesday afternoon
through the evening.

For the central and northern waters, storm to hurricane force
southeast winds ahead of front will shift to gale to storm force
southwesterlies in its wake. For Wednesday night, these high winds
will gradually move northwards and out of British Columbia waters by
Thursday morning as the system slowly departs.

For the outer South Coast waters, storm to hurricane force southeast
winds ahead of front will shift to gale force southwesterlies in its
wake.

For the inner South Coast waters, southeast winds will increase to
gale to storm force Wednesday morning. These southeast winds will
ease slightly Wednesday afternoon but will remain elevated at gale
force until early Thursday morning.
