Windy conditions are expected. When: Overnight to Friday morning. Where: Southern sections of Howe Sound including Bowen Island. Wind: Northerly outflow gusting to 90 km/h. Remarks: An area of low pressure will deepen off the Washington coast tonight and approach Vancouver Island on Friday. Ahead of the low, northerly outflow winds will increase through Howe Sound tonight, with peak wind speeds expected Friday morning. Winds will ease Friday afternoon. For emergency preparedness tips visit Safety Canada at: https://www.getprepared.gc.ca/index-en.aspx Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
