FREEZING DRIZZLE ADVISORY

Freezing Drizzle Advisory in effect for:
  • Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls

Areas of freezing drizzle are expected or occurring. Hazard: Freezing drizzle with light ice accretion or build-up. Icy and slippery conditions possible, particularly on untreated surfaces. Timing: Continuing through this morning. Discussion: Freezing drizzle is expected to continue early this morning and will taper off later this morning, though a slight risk could remain into the early afternoon. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
