Storm Surge Warning in effect for:
  • Coastline from Gascons to Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé

Higher than normal water levels and large waves are expected near the coast this evening. The combination of - moderate to strong east to northeast winds - a moderate surge - and a period of medium tidal range could produce minor breaking sea conditions along the coast in the early evening hours in some areas of the eastern tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. Flooding is possible along the coastline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas.

Snow and rain for the weekend What: - Heavy rainfall possible close to the shoreline. - Significant snowfall expected over higher grounds. - Strong to high northeasterly winds. - Risk of storm surge. When : From Saturday to Sunday. The strongest winds and the threat of storm surge would be Saturday evening. Additional information: a low pressure system will affect the Maritimes this weekend. However, precipitation amounts and maximum wind strength may varydepending on the track and intensity of the weather system.
