WIND WARNING

Another wind storm on Friday, less intense than the last one. When: Late morning to evening on Friday. Where: West Vancouver Island. Peak wind gusts: 90-110 km/h from the southeast. Remarks: Another fall storm is forecast to impact West Vancouver Island on Friday. An area of low pressure will deepen off the Washington coast tonight. This low is forecast to move northwards and approach Vancouver Island on Friday. Southeasterly winds will increase through the day on Friday, with peak wind speeds expected from late morning to evening hours. Strong winds will ease Friday night or early Saturday. While this low is not as intense as the major storm that affected the area on Tuesday and Wednesday, and peak wind speeds are forecast to be generally lower, strong winds may still cause damage and disruptions, and slow down clean up efforts. Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.   • Add to shortcuts

    • Use the Enter key to click on buttons or links
    • Organize shortcuts navigation
      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list
